Lost in Books, Found in Writing ...
About me
You know those kids who were always asking for sweets or toys? That wasn’t me. I wanted books. Before I could even read, I spent months pestering my nursery teacher for one. She eventually gave in—probably just to get some peace. Later, my teachers would joke to my mum, “Has she swallowed a thesaurus today?” because I had a habit of dropping words like aggravated or confused into everyday conversation.
That love of language never faded. At 10, I had my first poem published—though my poetry career was tragically short-lived. That didn’t stop me from obsessing over Cicely Mary Barker, John Milton, Dylan Thomas, and of course, Roald Dahl. I went on to study Journalism at the University of Westminster and worked for my local newspaper. But no matter where life took me, words were my constant.
Like any true bookworm, I had my Hobbit phase. I first attempted it as a young teen… then kept rereading it until I finally understood it. (It took longer than I’d like to admit.) Years later, when I was living in London, my mum would send me a new book in the post every week, and I’d devour it on my commute—squashed onto the Underground, but completely lost in the world on the page.
I spent years in hospitality and real estate, meeting people from all over the world. That’s where I think my passion for helping ESL speakers really began. I had the pleasure of working with so many of them, laughing together about the ridiculousness of the English language while also helping them express themselves more naturally.
Since late 2023, I’ve been travelling through Thailand, immersing myself in different cultures and refining my craft along the way. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: language isn’t just about words—it’s about connection. That’s why I specialise in helping non-native English speakers refine their content, ensuring their message is clear, engaging, and professional.
